Pink topaz was highly sought after by jewellers the 18th and 19th centuries – its flattering pink hues working beautifully alongside sumptuous yellow gold or delicate platinum mounts. Initially discovered in Russia, its source was closely guarded until further deposits were later discovered in Brazil. This pink topaz, with its unusual circular step-cut, shows a beautiful rose hue, which is flanked by a sparkling pair of antique circular-cut diamonds – a simple but effective design which gives centre stage to this extremely attractive stone.
