Benefits:
The Waterwatch alarm will send an audible signal should the water in the sump reach an abnormal height. This effect will be because the pump is failing to remove water correctly and could have several causes:

the pump has failed and needs replacing
electrical power has been lost to the pump because of a blown or tripped fuse
the plug socket switch has been turned to the OFF
the plug has been taken out of the wall socket
