Play food is the perfect way to develop an interest in the food we eat, recognise different varieties, their colours and shapes. It’s also a good way to introduce nutritional knowledge, the origins of food and broaden horizons.
The handling of the food will develop fine motor skills and encourage creative thoughts such as gardening, cooking in the kitchen or creating a market stall. Better not forget the till if we’re opening a shop though!
