Taylors Spindle M8

A taylors spindle is used when a full sized dummy handle is required. For example when used on an under stair door or as a slave handle on a set of French doors. The taylors spindle does not pass through the door, instead it is face fixed to the door with a couple of wood screws. Once in place the rose place is offered up and the knob is wound down until tight against the rose, the final process is to secure in place with the grub screw provided. If being used as a cupboard door pull we would recommend using either a magnetic or roller catch to keep the door closed.Our Beehive and Bun and Ringed door knobs will work well with a tailors spindle. They can be used with our solid brass beehive knobs but you will have to recess the base slightly to allow the rose plate to sit flush.åÊClick to download dimensions in PDF format.
